The shallow area extends up to 50 meters from the shore and reaches a maximum depth of six meters.

Emerald is a beautiful dive site, which we reach by a traditional Balinese boat, the "Jukung".

The diving area in Emerald begins in a sheltered bay, where the shallow area extends to a depth of six meters.
Here you will find an impressive variety of coral species and tropical fish.
The striking colors of the angelfish and harlequin triggerfish are particularly eye-catching.
After the shallow area, the underwater landscapes change to typical lava rocks that extend deep into the sea and alternate with slightly overgrown "sand slopes".
A cold lava flow marks the outer corner of the bay and stretches far into the sea.
This corner is particularly beautifully overgrown with coral and attracts many fish, making it the main destination of the dive.
Special features of the dive:
We dive along the reef out of the bay and come across the first overgrown rocks.
At a depth of around 18 meters there is an impressive elephant ear sponge, which is one of the highlights of this dive.
In the first "sand slope" at a depth of 24 metres, we discover an old car wreck, which is now badly decayed and no longer recognizable as a car.
The currents can intensify closer to the outer corner.
In ideal conditions, you can drift along the rock and enjoy the underwater spectacle without much movement.
Large bumphead parrotfish, napoleons and the occasional eagle ray can often be seen in this region.

At the outermost point of the dive, we dive into a second bay that is protected from the current.
Here we find a huge table coral directly under the edge of the rock, under which whitetip reef sharks occasionally rest.
The site also has a small table with chairs, which serves as a humorous photo location and is popular with divers.
If the currents allow, we can dive back over the rock to the first bay and explore some artificial reefs there.
These additional reefs add to the diversity of the dive and contribute to the attractiveness of the site.

Location and access:
The wreck of the Boga is accessed after a ten-minute drive from the resort in a van.
The wreck is located in the immediate vicinity of the beach and we enter via the stony beach for this dive.
Wreck description:
The Boga is a former Indonesian Coast Guard ship with a length of 43 meters.
The ship was extensively prepared before it was sunk: Windows and doors were removed, the ship was cleared of toxic residues and made accessible for divers.
The Boga was sunk on September 17, 2012, and since then the wreck has become an attractive underwater destination.
Underwater landscape:
The wreck of the Boga lies at an ideal depth for experienced divers, between 18 and 34 meters.
The bow of the ship is visible just five minutes after starting the dive.
It stands upright in the water and is covered with small corals on the outside.
The propeller marks the deepest point of the wreck at a depth of 36 meters.
The ship is still intact and can be dived through all three decks.
Inside the wreck are a number of Balinese statues, a VW bucket truck and other interesting relics waiting to be discovered.
The old toilet is still well preserved and a wooden rudder has been installed on the upper deck, which is often used for souvenir photos.

The wreck of the Boga has quickly developed into a home for numerous fish.
The corals that adorn the wreck provide a habitat for a variety of marine life.
The return trip from the wreck to the entry point is equally fascinating, with the possibility of spotting various nudibranchs and mantis shrimps amongst the soft corals.
